Smart Launch 'UZZAP'

Leading wireless service provider Smart Communications broke new ground today by launching the country’s first flat-rate, all-in-one, unlimited messaging service called Uzzap.

Uzzap is an Internet protocol (IP)-based, downloadable application which allows users to merge several messaging services such as SMS, instant messaging, and email into their mobile phone .

Aside from integrating these services, Smart Buddy Uzzap also allows users to join common-interest chatrooms, set up chat conferences, and use “extended messaging,” or connect with other Uzzap users. More importantly, the application allows users to enjoy real-time, unlimited access to their existing accounts on other instant messaging networks popular in the Internet, all via their handset -- allowing users to stay connected anytime, anywhere.

“Smart Buddy Uzzap is another service that will further enrich the mobile Internet experience of our subscribers. Through Uzzap, Smart has taken another step towards taking web-based applications such as instant messaging, file sharing, and social networking and making these accessible and easy to use on their mobile handsets,” said Danilo Mojica, wireless consumer division head of Smart.

Smart Buddy Uzzap will be offered at flat-rate, unlimited subscription packages that will range from daily to monthly and will come bundled with free SMS (when sent using Uzzap). Available on a free trial period from today until 20 July 2008, the application is expected to be the preferred messaging platform of people who enjoy chatting but want more real value out of their money. Text UZZAP to 7272 for download instructions. For more information, visit  www.smart.com.ph/buddy and click on the Uzzap link.
