Nokia C3 Review

Last year Nokia announced their latest and most affordable QWERTY phone in the market, the Nokia C3. On their TV commercials they promote the reliable and simple messaging and social networking capability of Nokia C3.

For a budget minded consumer who wants to own a QWERTY phone, Nokia C3 would be a best choice specially if you are into Facebook or Twitter. This full QWERTY keyboard, dedicated Messaging and Contacts keys and with Wi-Fi connectivity that will give the user all the performance they need for a phone.

Aside from the phohe itself. you will get the typical accessories like charger, earphone for a 3.5mm audio jack, manual and a 1GB microSD. No USB cable included.

DESIGN
Nokia C3 is thicker and rough on the edges that makes the unit more decent compared to other QWERTY phone. The keyboard and the screen are good and easy to use.

Nokia C3 comes with three colors, Slate Bluish, Golden White and Hot Pink. The front design is all made of plastic that make the unit glossy.

It has a dedicated button for contacts and email/messages. And 4 navigation key at the middle. It also has a 2.4" 256k color display of 320 x 240 pixel resolution screen.

At the top of Nokia C3 is the 2mm charger plug and the 3.5mm standard audio jack. And 2.0 mega pixel of camera at the back middle of the unit.

USER INTERFACE
Nokia C3 runs in Series 40 symbian interface. It way not the same with the E series which uses Symbian S60 3rd UI.

The font are quite big for QWERTY phone like Nokia C3. The standby screen occupy the signal strength, battery status, ringing profile icon and time on the left side of the screen.

You can change the menu screen to 3 different modes.

For the messaging, the Nokia C3 gives you a great typing experience with its full keyboard. The interface is very familiar specially when you are using a bar type of phone from Nokia.

FEATURES
Nokia C3 has a great music player. The music player can sort a song by artist, album and genre. The player can play AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, MP3, WMA, AMR-NB. It also allows you to use stereo Bluetooth earphones.

This unit also has a FM radio and RDS support. Can save available radio stations in your area.

For the video player. Nokia C3 is only compatible with 3GP and MP4 formats. The video can be played in fullscreen mode and can be fast-forward and rewind. Video recording is also good. It can produce QVGA@20fps.

The 2MP pixel camera of Nokia C3 can snaps photos at 1600x1200 pixel. The camera settings are limited only for white balance, resolution and other effect and self-timer.

CONNECTIVITY
Nokia C3 is quad-band GSM/EDGE connectivity. It has a Wi-Fi connectivity for free hotspots and Bluetooth for local connection.

FINAL WORD
If you are into a QWERTY phone I would suggest the Nokia C3. One of the major reason is the affordability and the long battery life of the unit. If you are a person who always connected to your friends, this unit will probably the best for you because of its connectivity to Facebook, Twitter, Chat or IM. For a price of about Php5,000 to Php6,000 this would definitely a good catch.
